Julie Peavey Alexander

Julie Peavey Alexander

Julie Peavey Alexander was born and raised in the heart of Kansas, though her family roots rest in the hills of Oklahoma.  This book, her first book, was written due to her passion for the land on which her father was raised and the history of the great state of Oklahoma.

Julie worked for trial attorneys for twenty years, first as a legal secretary and later as a legal assistant.  She has three beautiful children and continues to reside in Kansas with her loving husband and hyperactive German Shepherd.

Words of encouragement from readers:

“Dear Julie, I recently read your wonderful gem of a book and am re-reading it now.  I am inspired by it on so many levels.  The circuitous route that led me to your work has been a result of my own research journey.  . . .  Thank you for your contribution to Oklahoma history.  Please know that your literary accomplishment is a huge source of encouragement for me, for which I am most appreciative. I look forward to reading your next book.”

“I called my good friend, XXXXX XXXXXXXX” and told him his book had came in.  He started out at Ada as an Ada police officer and later a city judge before coming to OCPD and becoming an officer here.   . . .  Gave him your book and he has already read it and said it was great!  Just wanted you to know.”

“You probably have never heard of me, but I recently heard of you from XXXXXX XXXXXXXX, who mentioned your book to me. He said he had heard some good things about it but had not yet read it for himself. I immediately told him I wanted a copy and sent a check. I received your book from you a few days ago and want to tell you how impressed I am with it.  But before I go further, let me tell you who I am and why I have an interest in the topics you covered.  . . .  Anyway, I was very glad to get your book and have added it to our Bibliography.  Thank you for your patience in reading this lengthy message, and best wishes to you and yours.”
